Standards, expectations, and best practices for NewBanger curators.
Who Can Be a Curator?
We welcome curators from different backgrounds, but you must meet at least one of the following requirements.
Playlist Curators
Must have at least 1 active playlist with 500+ followers on Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack, or Boomplay.
Blog Curators
Must run an active music blog with regular content and established readership.
Social Media Influencers
Must have 10,000+ followers on at least one platform (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, YouTube).
Verification Required
All curators must pass our verification process before receiving submissions.
Code of Conduct
Every curator on NewBanger is expected to uphold these standards.
Honest Reviews
Provide genuine, constructive feedback on every submission.
No Fake Engagement
Never use bots, fake streams, or artificial metrics.
Timely Responses
Review submissions within 48 hours of receiving them.
Quality Standards
Only place music that genuinely fits your platform's audience.
Professional Communication
Maintain respectful interactions with all artists.
Transparency
Be upfront about your platform reach and audience demographics.
Review Process
Follow these steps for every submission you receive.
Receive Submission
Receive a submission notification matching your genre preferences.
Listen & Review
Listen to the full track and review the artist's profile.
Accept or Decline
Accept or decline with detailed feedback (minimum 50 words).
Place the Song
If accepted, place the song on your platform within 24 hours.
Confirm Placement
Confirm placement with proof (screenshot or link).
Earning & Payments
Get rewarded for quality work. Here's how curator payments work.
- Curators earn per review and per placement.
- Payments processed weekly (every Monday).
- Minimum payout threshold: ₦5,000.
- Payment methods: Bank transfer, mobile money.
- Bonus earnings for high acceptance rates and positive artist ratings.
Violations & Consequences
We take platform integrity seriously. Here's what happens when guidelines are broken.
Warning
First minor violation results in a formal warning.
Suspension
Repeated violations lead to account suspension.
Permanent Ban
Fake engagement or fraud results in a permanent ban.
Moderation Review
All decisions are reviewed by the NewBanger moderation team.
